Why we built Record OS

Before writing a single line of code, we spent time with dozens of UK practice owners, tax partners, and accountants. What we heard, almost universally, was the same story: Self Assessment is still a deeply manual, fragmented process — one that eats up staff time, creates compliance risk, and leaves clients with a poor experience.

We believed the technology now exists to solve this properly. So we built Record OS.

We use AI to automate the repetitive, manual steps — document extraction, data entry, client chasing — so accountants can focus on what only they can do: applying judgement and delivering real value to their clients. We're not here to replace the accountant. We're here to give them the time to do their best work.

Self Assessment is just the start; we're passionate about building Record OS as the future tax operating layer for UK firms.
